Hoxly Links is a simple service that automatically redirects traffic to multiple mirrors of a site if the main one goes down.
Sometimes when posting links on websites like Reddit or HackerNews they will be taken offline by the surge of traffic (often referred to as "The Hug of Death"). When you use a Hoxly Link instead we will detect if the main website goes offline and start routing traffic to Archive.org instead. When the main website comes back online it will begin receiving traffic again.
Hoxly Links is designed to be extremly light-weight as to avoid itself being taken offline and is hosted on AWS Lambda. It tries to avoid causing undue stress on the target website by caching status codes for 5 minutes.
To create a Hoxly Link simply use the format:
https://links.hoxly.com/r?url=<url>
http://www.facebook.com/media.php - Facebook's old advertising info page
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/05/16/slain-dnc-staffer-had-contact-with-wikileaks-investigator-says.html - Retracted Fox News story
